Day 2

The action continued here in Omaha for day 2 with four swimmers in three events.

Recap:

Sophie KZ started off the night with a strong 100 backstroke. She finished with a 1:04.41 and completed her second race of the meet. After her race, Sophie said that despite adding some time, she is staying positive and is ready for her 200 backstroke.

Up next was Aidan Burns swimming the 200 freestyle. He took his race out fast with a 54.12 and came home strong for a final time of 1:53.16. Burns is half way done with his races for the meet and will have two days off before racing again in the 200 IM.

Rounding out today's events were Sarah Shimomura and Sandra Soe swimming the 400 freestyle.

Shimomura swam first, finishing in a 4:21.38. She had very consistent splits throughout her race and raced the competition all the way to the wall. Shimomura will compete again tomorrow in the 200 freestyle where she is seated with a 2:01.94.

Soe, who was seated 98th coming into the meet, finished 75th over all! Her time was a 4:20.96 and, like Shimomura, had a very consistent swim and an exciting race.

Highlight:

Today's highlight is that Jenny Ma has arrived in Omaha! She was able to come in time to watch finals and warm up at the pool. For the first time at trials, our team is complete with the nine qualifiers here in Omaha.
