Olympic Trials 2016

    My name is Elise Locke. I qualified for trials in the 200 butterfly and I am here in Omaha with eight of my teammates at the biggest meet of our lives (so far!).  This blog is to share our experiences and excitment as we take on the Olympic Trials. My hope is that watching and following the action, in a personal way, will inspire my younger teammates or fellow swimmers to achieve their goals. 

    Competing in this meet has been a dream that I have talked about with my friends and family since I was 10 years old. I can only hope that this collection of pictures and stories from our trip can show people that nine Santa Clara swimmers made their dreams come true and so can you.

    So, in true John Bitter fashion, I will leave you with a quote (that happens to be on the back of my SCSC t-shirt), "When you wake up in the morning you have two choices -- go back to sleep and dream your dreams, or wake up and chase those dreams!"
